About Me

I began teaching classical Pilates in 2016. I was working as civil/environmental engineer and was looking for an activity that would complement the running and cycling I was doing. I discovered Pilates in 2009 and my lesson quickly became the highlight of my work week. I found that the body awareness, strength and flexibility attained through the practice of Pilates was an asset when training for half-marathons and century rides. I saw that practicing Pilates corrected bad posture habits acquired through years of desk work. The focus on proper body alignment also helped with knee pain I had experienced off and on for 20+ years.

I made the decision to leave engineering and study Pilates full time. I completed an appreticeship with world renowned Master Teacher Dorothee VandeWalle at Metropolitan Pilates in Seattle. After becoming a certified teacher, I taught at Studio Jacks in Seattle and Redmond Pilates Center in Redmond, two well regarded classical Pilates studios in the Seattle area. I am passionate about and enjoy working with clients who want to discover how Pilates will improve their strength, flexibility, and posture in their daily life and activities, while at the same time reducing the chance of injuries.
